Since 1966, the family-owned William Ris Gallery has been dedicated to the importance of original art. For those 53 years, the Gallery has been considered by art collectors and enthusiasts to be an arts destination. The relocation to the beautiful North Fork of Long Island’s East End in 2016 has gained the gallery an immediate following by fine art devotees.
Mary Cantone, the daughter and sister of the founders, has curated and run the gallery for over ten years, which represents and exhibits an extensive and diverse collection of contemporary works by East Coast artists. Cantone has included in her stable many recognized Long Island and New York City artists in the three years since its move to the area.
The offerings stretch a range of subjects, medium and genres, including representational, abstract, acrylic and oil paintings, mixed media, photographs, ceramics and sculptures. The Gallery’s excellent reputation and success is a direct result of its variety, appealing to all tastes. Each month, the Gallery has a new solo or group show highlighting collections by notable and accomplished artists, sculptors and artisans.
Carrying on the legacies of the founders, Cantone is driven by her lifelong exposure, knowledge and continuing commitment to the value of the arts in one’s life.
